M-P x Vinyl Villain

“This is the brand new EP by Producer Vinyl Villain and MC M-P and together they dropped a solid six tracks with just under 19 minutes of run time to run the sonic marathon to start the new year.”

“You’ve got tracks like -Porches which has this irresistible looped track that I found phenomenal! It’s got this angelic vocal harmony that’s left on a repetitive pattern as well as these delicate piano keys and very subtle jazz-like drum patterns that help give the track a base to build upon! A track that I could easily listen to for hours and never get sick of!”

“As far as the MC goes. He’s an incredibly talented man that really surprised me!…I’m talking about that fluent, unpredictable splash flow where he can spit at any given moment or place and still sound good on the beat!”

“This man has an incredible level of charisma and eccentricity on the verses! His vocabulary was impressive, as well as his enunciations and pen game sounded crisp and powerful all in one!”

“From his passion for the sport to his obvious conviction to the fact that he can carry an EP alone, solo, no help, just him and his ridiculous MC skills and raw attitude to keep it high energy and entertaining!

this man M-P proved he’s one of the rare ones! Absolutely annihilating the beats, making them his own whole, incorporating his own aesthetic and atmosphere to elevate each and every instrumental.”

Bio

Massachusetts producer Vinyl Villain without a doubt is one of the Modern Era’s most prolific producers. Vinyl Villains discography is packed to the brim with grimey, hard nosed, dusty production that’s guaranteed to break necks and backs on every listen. Every year the Massachusetts producer introduces his audience to new artists and people he’s been a fan of all this time. Estee Nack, Sauce Heist, Rim, Eto the list goes on and on with Vinyl Villain showing he has the consistency and quality to be a household name for decades to come. Vinyl Villain still has some tricks up and projects up his sleeve to close out the year, he’s not finished yet.

From the jump Vinyl Villain was a fan of the music, “Growing up in my house there was always music being played, my mother was and still is a huge Beatles fan,” he recalls. His mother was always listening to a wide variety of acts, while his brother introduced our Villain to Wu Tang and Cypress Hill. Once he entered high school Vinyl Villain got his first set of turntables, a mixer and a Boss DR-202 Dr. Groove drum machine and from there the rest is history. The young prodigy was already cooking up instrumentals and linking with artists who would freestyle over his work. A step further has the Villain taking his equipment and playing house parties, “I always loved playing music and introducing other people to music and sounds that I liked.” Vinyl Villain says. This then saw Vinyl Villain going to college for Audio Production where he’d meet someone who showed him the MPC2500. “I overborrowed on my loan and went and bought an MPC1000 and started chopping and looping samples and haven’t stopped since.” Vinyl Villain says.

With well over 100+ tracks produced both solo wise and with collaborators, Vinyl Villain brings the rare combination of quantity and quality. Vinyl Villain may be known for his signature grimey and underground sound, but do not get it twisted he is forever experimenting. Since about 2016 the Massachusetts standout has been releasing everything from monthly solo beat tapes and albums with some of the best artists in this era let alone all time. Codenine from Tragic Allies referred to Vinyl Villain’s art as “music to extort small businesses to”. One look over Vinyl Villain’s discography immediately shows the trust the hip-hop community has in soundscapes he’s bringing to the table. Haze, Jamal Gasol, Daniel Son and more all have waxed poetic over his production. “None of my collabs have been forced and I will continue to work this way,” the Villain states, “If I am a fan of your music chances are I will be reaching out to see if we can build something organically.” Vinyl Villain wants you to walk away feeling charged up and ready to conquer anything in your way after playing his music.

With all of Vinyl Villain’s resume crafted over the course of the last four years, his impeccable work ethic and consistency speaks volumes for itself. In 2019 alone we saw the Massachusetts Villain drop four albums with ETO, Ankhlejohn, Fastlife & SPNDA respectively. The first two would get Vinyl distribution through Copenhagen Crates and sell out almost immediately. On top of this the world is taking notice of the Villains production, receiving coverage from outlets like Deeply Rooted Hip Hop, HOT 97, the Washington City Paper and more. This coverage sees the Villain with over 250K streams across Spotify and Apple Music alone while simultaneously selling out of CDs and Vinyl of his 2020 efforts. This also includes the critically acclaimed album “???” by The Hidden Character where Vinyl Villain handled 80% of the production. Now’s the time to press play, Vinyl Villain is a prolific legend that we will be speaking of for the rest of time.
